Natasha from 5minutesjustforme.blogspot.com shares today her favourite song with us and invited us to link up with our favourite song.
So she gave me a great idea for a post.
My latest favourite song is je veux from zaz . I just love it. You should listen to it and you will understand why I like it so much.

It's a French song. The group are street singers and this song "je veux" is a big hit now in France and in Greece. I hope you like it! The say that the singer is the new Edie Piaf.

Vintage...



Do you like old furniture? I like them a lot. Especially vintage pieces that remind us of another era...Look what my mother in law gave to me. An old radio that she bought at the end of the sixties, a piece that is almost 50 years old. At the beginning I was thinking of painting it, you know to do a "before and after" post, but i decided not to... What do you think should i keep it this way or not?

Summer vs winter...

We are in the middle of autumn ... The summer has passed and now we are all looking forward to Christmas...
This weekend I had a family trip to Kalamata (a seaside town south of Greece) and the weather certainly did not look like autumn or winter. It was more spring or summer.  Sometimes the weather does not follow the seasons...

It was so beautiful we all  realy enjoed it.

58 days until Christmas ....

Yesterday I was very happy because I received the first Christmas ornaments,  from my husban's sister. Once I saw them my face lit with joy. I love Christmas and I love it even more now that I have children. 

I love this tree made by glass. It's so pretty...

Salmon with leek...

A delicious plate, healthy, easy to prepare and very quick to cook!

•   Ingredients 
• 3 to 4 boneless salmon fillets
• 3 leeks
• 1 onion
• 2 cloves garlic
• 2 carrots
• dill
• 1 lemon (juice)
• olive oil
• oregano
• salt
• pepper
•  parsley for garnish

Finely chop the leeks, carrots, onion, garlic and dill. Place the salmon and cut vegetables on baking paper.Put salt, pepper, oregano, lemon juice and olive oil.

 Fold the baking paper and place them in a pan. Bake in preheated oven at 190 degrees Celsius (375 Fahrenheit -  air function) for 35 - 40 minutes. 

  Garnish   with chopped parsley and serve!

An "old" notebook advice

 Today i will  give you some advice on the household for some everyday problems and emergencies that can happen to anyone! Simple tips that I learned from my grandmother, my mother and some other housewives.

•  Vinegar ...

Each time you use the dishwasher add 3 tablespoons of vinegar. The plates and glasses are more shiny and neutralizes unpleasant odors.

• To disapear the salts from the kettle, boil some water with vinegar and it will clean up immediately.

• A little vinegar, some water and some baking soda a mixture to clean your refrigerator and your kitchen surfaces. An eco-cleaner that kills germs!!

I'll give you a Greek recipe from Crete, very tasty and healthy!Here in Greece is very popular!

• Ingredients

• 4 nuts (small barley rusks)

• 1 tomato
• 100 gr  feta cheese
• capers
• oregano
• virgin olive oil
• balsamic vinegar.

Moist the nuts with a little water. Then finely chop the tomato and feta and spread over the nuts. Finally add the capers, virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Autumn wreath with pot pourri

It's being a while since my last post. I was busy due to my little girl's baptism. Planning, decoration, favors (for 130 guests) etc. I'm going to do another post for it. 

Today finaly i finish my autumn wreath!

  

 All i needed was :

• bamboo wreath (craft store) 
• pot pourri
• glue gun 
• ribbons

A few years ago i was working for an airline company, among other things i 've learned was the phonetic alphabet. Useful for spelling over the phone, booking tickets etc. I thought it would be interesting to share it with you.

Alternative materials....



Today i am going to show you an easy way to make a bracelet. The materials i used are very simple.

A cylinder box from paper cutting in pieces ( I used one from chips)

Colour ribbon ( slim )

Chain with strass

Glue

 





We roll up the ribbon around the paper circle untill it's all covered (you better use a very long piece cause we have to roll it up twice, one before we put the chain on and one after). Then we put some glue around and we put the chain on and we start to roll the ribbon up again between the gaps from the strass. When it's all covered  up we tied up the ribbon and it's ready.

Sweet beginning...

Hi everybody!

A new week and a new school year for the students here in Greece. My little boy starts school today so i decide to start his first day with something sweet!Carrot muffins with chocolate sauce!

Ingredients for 12 muffins

1/2 cup brown sugar
4 tbsp butter

1 cup shredded carrots

1 large egg

6 tbsp fresh orange juice

1 tbsp vanilla extract

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp baking powder

2 cups flour

chocolate sauce

1 bar dark chocolate

4 tbsp hazel nut praline

Preheat oven to 350f.

Beat all the ingredients in a bowl (mixer in medium speed). Transfer the mixture to the muffin cups and  bake for 20 - 22 minutes.

For the chocolate sauce  melt the dark chocolate with the hazel-nut praline in. Serve with the muffins and fresh strawberrys or pineapple.
